17-18 Tentative Agreement Documents
Comprehensive Settlement Proposal For
AUHSD and AEA
April 18, 2018
All previous and yet to be ratified tentative agreements are included in this settlement. Upon ratification by the Acalanes Education Association and the Governing Board, this settlement fully closes negotiations for the 2017-2018 school year.
1. Article 3: Salary
a.Salary schedules will be increased by 3% retroactively to July 1, 2017.
b. Members will receive a 3% one-time, off schedule payment at the staff member’s current salary, prorated based on their FTE up to 1.0 FTE. This will be based on the 2017-2018 salary schedule.
c. In addition to the above, it is the intention of the parties that for 2017-2018 only, there will be contingency or “trigger” language that takes effect:
i. If on the Annual Certified Taxes Report, local property taxes (as reported on the Revenue and Taxation code sections 95-100.9 and 75.7, total line A-11) exceed $44,013,078 (Period 2 Certified Taxes Report) by at least $250,000 and up to a maximum of $1,500,000, the district will allocate additional, retroactive ongoing salary from .5% and up to 2%, pro-rated accordingly and distributed evenly across all cells. Specifically, at these revenue levels the salary will be:

d.The amount paid to teachers on the first column (A) of the salary schedule shall be equal to the amount paid to 1st year teachers on column B, retroactive to July 1, 2017.
e. Beginning in the 2018 school year, the Master’s Degree stipend will be increased to $1500 and Doctorate stipend increased to $2,100.
f. The District and AEA will jointly draft an MOU establishing that the District will offer two optional professional development days in the summer of 2018 and one during the 2018-2019 school year for all certificated employees. The activity/agenda for the three days will be determined by the district. Certificated employees will be compensated at their per diem rate.
2. Article 7: Leaves Maternity/Paternity Language amended to reflect current law.
3. Article 12: Benefits Health Benefit Language was amended to replace CalPERS as the provider with the Self Insured Schools of California (SISC).
